Bastiat would’ve said, for those of you who don’t read French, that the law has been perverted, used, bastardized, an attempt to legalize or legitimize actions that run contrary to the natural rights of man, actions that infringe upon the freedom of man, conferring powers to some and stripping others of their rights. Make no mistake about it.
Scare-mongering, to drum up public support for measures that run contrary to the very foundation of this nation, Constitution that I’ve got in front of me? Where is this authority conferred upon the executive branch to engage in such activities?
Or any branch, for that matter?
Nowhere in our constitution, and I mean unequivocally, NOWHERE does it stress the importance of a strong, robust executive authority. In fact, in all fairness, the entire fucking point of our constitution to begin with is to LIMIT the power of the respective branches of the federal government – it was NOT intended to grant unfettered power, usurping the rights of both the several states and of the people.
The Constitution, the sole purpose of which was to delimit the exact nature of government, and restrict its “powers,” has been officially bitch-slapped into the obscurity and antiquity.
