Fed to Suspend Border Passport Rule

The suspension in the rules is aimed at clearing a massive backlog of passport applications at the State Department that has slowed processing to a crawl, they said.

Leave it to the government to set in motion a plan, without adequate resources to ensure its objective reaches fruition.

Aren’t we supposed to grudgingly accept all the inconveniences – including last minute trips to Chicago to get a Passport which hadn’t been processed even though you’d given 12 weeks (one friend, two days before spring break), canceled vacations, extra expenses, and so on – so that, you know, the terrorists don’t win?
