Moi, une anticapitaliste?

Apparently, my post about “generic” skateboard decks last week is getting a bit of attention. I do mean “a bit.” The WSJ has sent 30-some-odd visitors to my site, and this morning I received a trackback link from a blog hosted by Le Monde, a historically left-leaning French newspaper. If you can read French, you can check it out. If not, find someone who can read French.

In any event, the link to my post says that I have “Un point de vue anticapitaliste,” which, if my memory serves me right, translates to something like “An anti-capitalist point of view.” Mises is rolling in his grave.

So I left a comment, which I will translate below for the rest of you non-francophones:

je la trouve intéressant que Le Monde m’accuse d’être anticapitaliste. Peut-être, le mot “capitaliste” ne traduise pas bien? Ou peut-être, Marx ne savait rien de la capitalisme?

[translation: I find it odd that Le Monde labels me "anticapitalist." Maybe, "capitalist" doesn't translate well. Or maybe, Marx didn't know anything about capitalism.]

Well, i have published your point of view because it seems interesting to me to show that not everybody thinks like skate brands CEO. Anticapitalist wasn’t maybe the good word….

No harm done, La Source. Not all capitalists are corporatists.

You used the wrong genders. ;)

Grammar was never one of my strengths in foreign language.

Or, maybe I’m striking a blow for gender equality.
