The fact that Detroit Mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick’s press secretary was recently arrested on domestic abuse charges is not terribly newsworthy, except as part and parcel to an ongoing series of mishaps that seem to befall the Mayor and his associates at every turn. Kilpatrick’s tenure as Mayor of Detroit has been plagued with problems, including but not limited to a whistleblower suit, graft, temper tantrums, and numerous other allegations of impropriety, all-night boozing with his entourage while visiting Washington, D.C., the disappearance and/or murder of an “entertainer” at or near the Mannogian mansion, etc. So Allen’s arrest is just the latest in a very long series of unfortunate events. Presidential hopeful H-Rod says that “George Bush’s faulty and offensive historical analogies aren’t going to end the war in Iraq,” in response to the Fearmonger in Chief’s latest assertions: President Bush compared Congress’ Democratic leaders Thursday to people who ignored the rise of Lenin and Hitler early in the last century, saying “the world paid a terrible price” then and risks similar consequences for inaction today. Indeed, Bush’s statement is “faulty and offensive.” Lenin and Hitler were leaders of military and industrial superpowers. Bin Laden, and what’s-his-dick in Iran command no such military, industrial or economic might, despite sharing similar goals of hegemony and anti-Semitism.
