Dog Blogging

We’ve had the border collie/shepherd mutt since early February (related pictures, videos, posts) and despite sometimes being more than a handful (I’ve never know a dog with more energy!) she learns very quickly.

Right now, I’m working on teaching her how to catch a frisbee, she seems to do this sometimes only on accident, although she does appear to enjoy leaping through the air full-speed to snag the disc. Most of the time, especially once she begins to tire, she seems content to just let the frisbee fall to the ground, where she can easily retrieve it.

In the meantime, last night I began working on “roll over”, and although she hasn’t mastered it yet, I’d say she’s off to a pretty good start:

She’s adorable :) Border Collies will kick your ass in general, and she seems much more that than shepherd. I hope you (plural) have a lot of energy and time for her, or you’re going to face a lot of frustration.

I miss Katie sometimes, but we had to give her away. Hopefully she’s become a Chicagoland show dog by now, she certainly had the talent for it.
