MetaBlogging: WordPress Issues

In WTF I inquired about an apparent glitch in my WP dashboard and the disappearnce of the wysiwyg editor. I know enough about html that this is a minor inconvenience, and not a serious problem, although it has been impacting my ability to include pictures in a post, since I usually use the visual editor for image insertion.

John Petrie says that he hates the wysiwyg editor, and wishes he could use HTML as his default. 1955design says that he’s sure you can change your settings, John. I looked into it, and indeed, under Users | Your Profile, there is a check box for “Use the visual editor when writing.”

Unfortunately, this box was checked on my dashboard. Unchecking it seems to restore the plain text editor, but checking it does not restore wyswig, which I use occasionally for simplicity’s sake (blockquoting, linking, etc.)

The problem appears on both of my computers, which is why I was inclined to think it’s a WP problem, and not a local issue.
