Haha awesome! We had a similar situation here, couldn't figure out how our lab was getting up to the very top cabinets and getting down boxes of cereal -- turns out that our cat and dog were in cahoots, the cat would knock the ceral down and the dog would eat it.

We too ended up resorting to a camera to figure it out :)

Umm, what part of "we didn't know how she was escaping" didn't you understand?

The problem now, of course, is that she thinks she can escape, so if we escape-proof the cage, it just increases the likelihood that she'll hurt herself in an attempt.

Why didnt you just reinforce the crate with two or three bungy cords. Two going from the door to the side of the cage and one from the door to the roof would have solved that problem.
