Yes, Chrono. My point was only that, if you are compelled to serve on a jury, this is the course of action you ought to take (for non-violent or victimless "crimes").

Fighting the bad guys on their own turf is a waste of time because you can't usually win and there are normally repercussions. There are no repercussions for jury nullification (yet).

Assuming you are on trial for a victimless crime, I think you have a point. If you are ever on trial, informing the jury of their rights and seeking nullification is the most intelligent, most moral, and most just thing to do. But I disagree on your other points. Civil disobedience is a waste of time. Fighting the bad guys on their own turf, also, a waste of time. The most effective solution is leaderless resistance. A perfect analogy to this is the way a virus works. You need a set of arguments that disable a person's pro-state brainwashing and bring them up to speed. Then they can do the same for other people.

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district where in the crime shall have been committed ...

Possibly use this as a lever. The key here is impartial. Clearly a jury that has been told by an employee of the state that it must find a verdict according to the law of the state is no longer impartial. This at least has a decent chance of passing muster with the supreme court.

Thank you so much for writing this, David. This message should be spread far, wide, and as often as possible.

Another bit of advice that FIJA might not offer explicitly: If you're conscripted for jury duty and you want to serve (for the reasons discussed in this post: to protect your fellow man from predatory law), don't openly advertise to the prosecutor or judge that you support jury nullification, because that is grounds for immediate dismissal. They don't want anyone who thinks for themselves or who might consider contradicting what the State decrees.
