Today’s “that’s-so-fucking-crazy-I-think-I-saw-it-in-a-movie-once” Detroitism, is this stunning revelation about a Detroit cop who tried to pull a switcheroo with some evidence: “[a] narcotics officer has been suspended for allegedly stealing six kilograms, about 13.2 pounds, of uncut cocaine from the department’s property room… [Police Chief Ella Bully-Cummings] said the uncut cocaine has a street value of about $2.4 million.” Six kilograms? Government at all levels, by definition, tramples the rights of individuals. Generally speaking, it’s only a question of degree. The FDA routinely prolongs the suffering of individuals desparately waiting for new pharmaceuticals. They allow people to die while testing drugs that might prevent their deaths, or at least lengthen their lives. The state does not care about your life, or the quality thereof.
