As I’ve come to realize, there isn’t a third solution – as Mises said, it’s either the government (violence) or the market (freedom) that man can use to solve his problems, to better himself and his community. And the repressed Rand in me, tells me that there can be no wholesome compromise between the two. Most people, however, are unwilling to admit that their particular set of values rests on a foundation of violence, and accordingly they develop all these half-cocked, M.C. Escher-esque justifications and rationalizations for all of the glaring inconsistencies they so often come across. So, I want to show these inconsistencies for what they are: lies, half-truths, misnomers, fallacies, fictions. You’ve been misled – probably most of your life. Government is one great lie.
Don’t shoot the messenger.
Now, proceed to the blog.
